His Holiness, Benedict XVI, Pontiff Emeritus, is now resting at Castel Gandolfo and as our parish priest said, when he celebrated Mass this morning we are, at the moment, a family without a father. God will provide us with a new father but in the meantime, we must pray that our brothers, the Cardinal Electors, will respond to the promptings of the Holy Spirit to choose the man God has in mind to fill the shoes of St. Peter.
One way to pray might be to offer up the prayer of the Stations of the Cross sometimes known as the Way of the Cross. Each Friday evening we pray the Stations in our chapel here at our motherhouse. You can pray them in your parish when they are scheduled during Lent or privately.
Here is a link to a beautiful version of the Stations of the Cross composed by Mother Angelica.
