Here is a beautiful reflection for All Saints Day! It is taken from a holy card that belonged to the father of one of our Sisters. He kept it stuck to his mirror and he read it every day. This man was a very saintly man so these sentiments are worth our reflection. I think they speak the truth.

"Why were the saints, saints?
Because they were cheerful when it was difficult to be cheerful,
patient when it was difficult to be patient;
and because they pushed on when they wanted to stand still,
and kept silent when they wanted to talk,
and were agreeable when they wanted to be disagreeable.
That was all. It was quite simple and always will be"

Today we reflect on the relationship between Heaven and earth. In the pre-school we tell the children, "A saint is someone who has made it to Heaven." Let's attach the reflection to our mirror and keep our eyes on that Heavenly goal!
