A solemn feast

A number of young women will be joining us for the weekend for a Vocations Discernment Retreat weekend. With them we will look at the Church's teaching on both Marriage and Consecrated Life. There will be time for prayer, teachings, sharing, and fun! Please keep the Sisters and the young women in your prayers this weekend. We will be having another such weekend in early October if you or someone you know would be interested in attending.

On another note, this Sunday is the Solemnity of Corpus Christi - the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. The Eucharist is the peak and summit of our lives as Catholics. This is the day we focus our attention on the great treasure we have - the Presence of Jesus with us in the Blessed Sacrament, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Each day we can receive Him into our hearts.
Please note that there is a very special Eucharistic Congress scheduled for September at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC. Click on this link: http://www.cmswr.org/EucharisticCongress/EC_info.html to learn more about the Congress. Our Sisters will be taking part.

I very much encourage all of you to consider attending the Congress for at least for one day. Speakers include the daughter of St. Gianna Molla (http://www.saintgianna.org/) who is travelling from Milan, Italy to take part. A portion of the tilma of St. Juan Diego which contains the painting of our Lady of Guadalupe will be on display for veneration. http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=73

Many parishes will be having Eucharistic Processions to celebrate the solemnity of Corpus Christi. May this be a blessed feast day for all of you. Jesus is waiting to reveal Himself in ever deeper ways as you spend time with him in the tabernacle.
