We rejoice!

Love Poured Out
Today is the magnificent solemnity of the Precious Body and Blood of Jesus Christ - Corpus Christi. I was struck by the closing prayer for Morning Prayer in the Liturgy of the Hours:
Lord Jesus Christ, we worship you living among us in the sacrament of your body and blood.  May we offer to our Father in heaven a solemn pedge of individed love.  May we offer to our brothers and sisters a life poured out in loving service of that kingdom, where you live with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

"Loved Poured out" is the logo of the Sisters of Jesus Our Hope, signified by the Lamb of God, standing, his precious blood poured out and into the Eucharistic chalice.   This solemnity today marks the close of a week-long celebration of the 20th anniversary of the founding of our community in 1992.  We began the week on Trinity Sunday and we end the week today, a feast with great significance for our way of life which is centered on the Eucharist.   During the week the Vicar General of our Diocese celebrated Mass for us in our chapel. Today we close the week with solemn vespers and a dinner for our Sisters and several young women who are invited guests.

As Sisters we live the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience, joyfully trying to pour out our lives for one another and for those we serve.  We pray that the Lord will send us many young women who will be willing to continue the call that God has given us, especially as we begin this year of Evangelization, a call to share the love of God and our Catholic faith with so many who need to come to know Him.

Pray for us
