Did you ever feel paralyzed? Like immobilized with no clear idea where to go or what to do next? I get like that sometimes and most of the time it is because I am distracted or pre-occupied with something that is on my mind! Sometimes it is because I am out of peace and there is something in me that needs to be dealt with.
I was reminded of all this today as I meditated on the Gospel. (Mark 2:1-12) It is the familiar story of the man who was paralyzed and his friends took him to see Jesus. However, there was such a big crowd around the house where Jesus was staying they couldn’t get close. Because of their great love and concern for their friend they climbed on to the roof, removed some of the tiles and let his pallet down through the hole so that he ended up right in front of the Lord!
The first thing Jesus did for the man was to forgive his sins! Imagine! And to show that He had the power to forgive, he then healed the man of his paralysis and sent him home.
Sometimes when I am paralyzed (as described above!) I find that going to Confession is the answer for me. In this day and age there is hardly ever a crowd to get through in order to get to Jesus. And my “friend” is the priest in the confessional who brings the Lord to ME! As I tell Jesus through the priest all the sins and failures that are troubling me, Father speaks the words of forgiveness and I am well again!
If you are feeling paralyzed take a good look at your symptoms and if you need to go to Confession go! Jesus waits there with all the graces you need to walk - and perhaps even to run!

I'm very glad I read this, I'm going to be going to confession at my next opportunity. I've been holding back because I'm a new Catholic and don't really know what I'm doing yet.
Thanks!
Love,
Nissa
Okay, sister, you talked me into it!
