Change is coming

I don't know about you but at our house we are getting ready for the implementation of the New Roman Missal! I hope you know what I am talking about. There is a new translation of the prayers for the Mass that will go into effect on the first Sunday of Advent, November 27. I am sure you have heard about it at your local parish. Our Sisters have been spending time each Sunday studying the changes.

Here is a link to a YouTube Video which gives a quick explanation of what has been happening to make the prayers at Mass conform more to the Latin original. It is part of the Church's effort to open our minds and hearts to all that is happening in the Mass and to enable us to grow more deeply in love with the Mass - with the Lord! Here is the link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yeHHDnpnu98

Also, here is a link to the web site of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishop which is well worth checking out. Search through this page on the site for more information. http://old.usccb.org/romanmissal/

Some of us attended a conference this weekend on the Liturgy given by Dr. Edward Sri, a Scripture scholar. http://www.augustineinstitute.org/faculty/profsriprofile.html It was wonderful. His conferences about the Mass are in a newly-released book entitled "A Biblical Walk Through the Mass" published by Ascension Press.

Get your heart ready for the new Roman Missal (Third Edition) It is a very exciting time!
