The waiting is over!

At Mass this morning Father prayed from the New Roman Missal. Using our response cards we prayed the revised responses. The Mass prayers are beautiful and reverent and puts us in a posture of adoration and humility. What a blessing for the English-speaking Catholic Church. Catholics in other countries - Germany, Italy, Poland, etc. have been praying these same prayers for the past 40 years. It has taken us this long to catch up! The Church officially begins using these revised prayers on Sunday, the first Sunday of Advent.

Jokingly, Father commented that learning the new prayers from the New Roman Missal will "slow him down" and he will have to pray more slowly and reverently! Everyone at Morning Mass cheered! You see, those of us in the Church love the Mass - and the Lord - and we have a great desire to pray the Mass and not just say it! Isn't that wonderful!
